PHILOSOPHY
Dream Team Doulas provides sleep support for children aged 6 months to 5 years. We believe that every child is unique, and customizing our approach to meet each child’s individual needs leads to the best outcomes. Our process begins with a careful assessment of the child's physical and emotional needs, considering their age, temperament, and sleep history.
Learning something new can be stressful for children, and stress can hinder their ability to absorb new skills. For this reason, we avoid using methods like Cry It Out alone. As trained professionals, we work with children using empathy, sensory cues, natural biological rhythms, and nutrition to help them develop self-soothing skills and become independent sleepers.
Whether your child sleeps in a family bed or their own room, we’re here to help. We also offer support for developmental and situational regressions that can occur in a child’s life.
INITIAL INTAKE
Our intake process is designed to gather key information about your child's sleep history, daily schedule, nutritional needs, personality, challenges, parenting approach, and overall family goals. Based on this information, Dream Team Doulas will create a customized plan to address your child’s specific needs. One of the most important aspects of our intake process is building a connection with your child, establishing trust for our future work together.
IN-HOME OVERNIGHT SERVICES
We prefer to work directly with families in the child’s home environment. Our goal is to help your child develop independent self-soothing habits in their designated sleep space. We also work with parents to gradually remove any interventions (such as feeding or rocking to sleep) that may be preventing their child from sleeping independently. Parents are encouraged to observe our work with the child through a monitor. Our ultimate goal is to equip parents with the tools to maintain healthy sleep habits on their own.
In addition to in-home services, we also offer phone support during and after our in-home sessions to provide the ongoing guidance necessary for long-term success.
